Attention all Mums who LOVE being a Mum but sometimes need encouragement to know that they’re not alone on this tiring, wonderful, often thankless, most rewarding journey of a lifetime called PARENTHOOD. This blog is for you.

My goal is to endeavor to share with you things that I’m learning on my own journey as a Mum of 4 children. If I hear of any interesting tips or things that help to make our task a little easier, I’m planning on sharing them here in this blog. One of the best pieces of advice I was ever given about parenting was that ‘You are never going to know it all’. That’s probably true of most things in life but I have remembered that often over the last 10 years I’ve been a Mum and so figure I’ll keep trying to learn as much as I can along the way and share it with as many people as I can too!

Let me introduce myself: My name is Charissa and have been married to an amazing man, David, for the past 14 years. We have been blessed with 4 precious children, Benjamin Harry – 10, Caitlin Amelia – 9, Lachlan David – 7 and Annie Rose – 5. I have a background as an Occupational Therapist and we have been running Growing Families courses for the past 9 years. Dave & I have also put together Babywise Bliss (see www.babywisebliss.com.au) which is a 1 hour long DVD presentation of the principles found in On Becoming Baby Wise.

We have just had the privilege of spending 2 months in America. Some of that was with the Ezzos in their beautiful home (you think you’re stressed about your kid’s behaviour! We lived in the same house as the Ezzos, with our 4 kids, for 5 1/2 weeks!!!!! :-? May I say how incredibly gracious they were though, even when Annie had some moments of exercising her strong will! ) during which time we were involved in filming some of the new Preparation for the Toddler Years series as well as another new series which has the working title of Parenting by Principle.

We have always been so grateful for the information we have been given through Growing Families and believe it has not only saved us from a whole heap of stress but has also helped us to enjoy our kids much more.

So, now I have introduced myself, I will leave you with the thought that

* You are never going to know all there is to know about parenting *

I encourage you, like me, to keep asking questions, watching and learning from other people and most of all, keep humble before the Lord as you ask for His wisdom in your parenting journey.

Next time I thought I would share some of the incredible wisdom that Anne Marie Ezzo shared with me while we were with them in South Carolina.

Until then, Charissa
